Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India ने Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026 के लिए Notification No. 17-12/2026-GDS dated 20 August 2026 जारी किया है। इस recruitment के माध्यम से देशभर के Postal Circles में Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) और Dak Sevak के कुल 23,757 पद भरे जाएंगे। कोई Written Examination नहीं है; selection मुख्य रूप से Class 10 marks की system-generated merit list के आधार पर होगा।

Educational Qualification & Eligibility
Educational Qualification:
Government of India / State Government / Union Territory द्वारा recognized School Education Board से 10th Class Secondary School Examination Pass और Mathematics तथा English में passing marks.

Notification के अनुसार किसी अन्य Board से केवल “equivalent qualification” रखने वाले candidates GDS post के लिए eligible नहीं हैं।
Local Language Requirement
Candidate ने संबंधित post के लिए prescribed local language को कम से कम recognized Board से Class 10 तक पढ़ा और pass किया हो।
Special State Rules
- Arunachal Pradesh: Hindi/English up to Class 10 + notified tribal local language/dialect knowledge; prescribed proficiency certificate where applicable.
- Goa: Konkani या Marathi up to Class 10; only Marathi studied candidates को Konkani proficiency भी चाहिए.
- Sikkim: English + notified 12 languages में से one applicable language; certificate rule where applicable.
- Nagaland: Hindi/English up to Class 10 + notified 19 tribal local languages/dialects में से किसी एक का knowledge.
Other Mandatory Qualifications
- Computer knowledge.
- Cycle चलाने का knowledge; declaration में cycle and/or two-wheeler scooter/bike capability.

- GDS को Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) मिलता है.
- GDS Rules conditions के अधीन 3% annual increase.
- Government-declared Dearness Allowance applicable.
- GDS Gratuity और Service Discharge Benefit Scheme जैसे benefits applicable.
GDS Department/Central Government के regular employees नहीं हैं और उनके pay/benefits regular Central Government employees के समान नहीं हैं।
Service Conditions & Job Profile
- Daily duty minimum 4 hours और maximum 5 hours.
- 65 years की age के बाद retain नहीं किया जा सकता.
- Service mainly rural areas में.
- TRCA/allowance के अलावा family support के लिए दूसरा income source होना चाहिए.
Branch Postmaster – BPM
- Branch Office और IPPB के day-to-day operations.
- Products/services marketing, CSC services और office management.
- Single-person BO में postal operations तथा delivery की overall responsibility.
- Selected BPM को Branch Post Office accommodation स्वयं arrange करना होगा.
- BPM को उसी Post Village में reside करना होगा.
Assistant Branch Postmaster – ABPM
- Stamps/stationery sale, doorstep mail delivery, mail exchange और IPPB transactions.
- BPM को postal operations में assistance.
- Marketing/CSC and assigned duties.
- Relevant Branch Office delivery jurisdiction के अंदर residence जरूरी.
Dak Sevak
- Post Office / Sorting Office / Mail Office / Transit Mail Office / Delivery Centre आदि में deployment.
- Mail, bags, parcels, delivery, transshipment, IPPB और operational assistance.
- Relevant Post Office delivery jurisdiction के अंदर residence जरूरी.

No Written Exam: कोई written examination/interview prescribed नहीं है। Merit Class 10 marks पर system-generated होगी।
Merit Calculation
- Class 10 marks/grades/points को percentage में convert करके merit 4 decimal places तक.
- जहाँ marks available हैं, marks के आधार पर apply करें; marks की जगह grades/points डालने पर candidature cancel हो सकती है.
- Only-grade cases में grade point × 9.5.
- CGPA available होने पर CGPA × 9.5; individual grades और CGPA दोनों हों तो official higher-value rule.
- DBSE जैसे Boards में marksheet percentage पर merit.
- Tamil Nadu State Board 2020-21 pass-only certificates: system 66.67% assign करेगा.
- Previous experience/service को weightage नहीं.
Tie-Breaking
पहली priority DOB के अनुसार older candidate को; इसके बाद notification में prescribed ST/SC/OBC/EWS/UR तथा Trans-woman/Woman/Trans-man/Man sequence लागू होगा। Further tie पर Department additional criterion लागू कर सकता है।
Exam Pattern & Complete Syllabus
Exam Pattern: इस recruitment में कोई Written Examination नहीं है.
Official Syllabus Status: Selection Class 10 merit पर है; notification में कोई written exam prescribed नहीं है, इसलिए कोई official examination syllabus जारी नहीं है.
Maths / Reasoning / GK / English syllabus अपनी तरफ से नहीं जोड़ा गया है।
Reservation & PwBD Rules
- SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwBD reservation Department rules के अनुसार.
- EWS candidates को age relaxation नहीं, पर eligible EWS को 10% reservation.
- OBC candidate closing date पर Creamy Layer में नहीं होना चाहिए.
- EWS certificate relevant financial year के लिए closing date पर valid होना चाहिए.
- Physical verification में prescribed valid reservation certificate required.
PwBD Reservation
- Low Vision – 1%
- Deaf / Hard of Hearing – 1%
- Specified locomotor disability categories – 1%
- Specific Learning Disability / Intellectual Disability and specified multiple disabilities – 1%
- Both Legs category केवल notification की specific Dak Sevak conditions के अनुसार.

- Official India Post GDS Online Engagement Portal पर One-Time Registration करें.
- Active Mobile Number और Email ID OTP से verify करें.
- Personal details exactly Class 10 certificate के अनुसार भरें.
- Board, Class 10 passing year तथा marks/grade information भरें.
- Eligible Division select करें और eligible Post IDs preference order में दें.
- Recent photograph और scanned signature upload करें.
- Applicable ₹100 fee online pay करें.
- Preview check करके final submit करें और Registration Number सुरक्षित रखें.
Multiple Registration Prohibited: एक candidate केवल एक registration/application कर सकता है; duplicate/multiple registration candidature cancellation का कारण हो सकता है.
Candidate selected Divisions में से केवल एक Division में एक या अधिक eligible vacant posts के लिए preferences दे सकता है। Multiple suitable posts होने पर preference order का पहला suitable post offer होगा.

Blurred photograph या unclear/miniature signature वाले applications reject किए जा सकते हैं.
Edit / Correction Rules
- Correction Window: 23–24 September 2026 up to 05:00 PM.
- Mobile Number और Email ID modify नहीं किए जा सकते.
- Category change से additional fee बने तो correction fee payment के बाद effective.
- Corrected application resubmit होने पर previous application invalid; merit revised data पर.
- Correction window में modified application final resubmit करने के बाद further correction allowed नहीं.
- Correction शुरू करके final resubmission/payment complete न करने पर modification invalid और earlier submitted application data लागू.

Selected candidate को selection date से 15 days के भीतर designated Divisional/Unit Head office में report करना होगा; failure पर system absent mark कर candidature cancel कर सकता है.
Provisional Offer & 30-Day Joining Rule
Successful DV के बाद provisional engagement offer; offer date से 30 days के भीतर pre-engagement formalities, including prescribed 3-day basic training और BPM accommodation arrangement जहाँ applicable हो.
DigiLocker / API Setu Verification
Department Class 10 marksheet और available documents को API Setu / DigiLocker / Education Board official website से verify कर सकता है; discrepancy candidature cancellation का कारण हो सकती है.
Important Disqualification Rules
- Punishment के रूप में Government Service/GDS से dismissed/removed/compulsorily retired persons eligible नहीं.
- Elected post holder consider नहीं होगा.
- Selected GDS Post Office/IPPB interest के विरुद्ध outside-agency activity नहीं कर सकता.
- False information/identity concealment/forged documents पर cancellation, termination और legal action हो सकता है.
Selection Lists Closing
Notification के अनुसार 31 December 2026 के बाद engagement process close और further selection list नहीं, unless Department dates revise/extend करे.
